my newest discover- because of Roger, the waiter.

My sweet and funny dearheart of a friend Gina- had her 26th birthday party on Friday- and as I looked down the table of 30 people or so- I realized I only knew about three people (Gina, my husband, and a friend from high school). As I looked down the table I started guessing at who all of these people were. (It’s surprising I don’t know them, because it seems we’re constantly together). I looked and guessed and whispered questions to Gina about everyone. Turns out I have a surprising talent for picking out people’s occupations. Maybe a lot of us show our passions/hobbies by what we wear- cause two different people asked me what “I did” and when I said I was a photographer- they both said that I looked like an artist. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not. ; ) One of my favorite guessing games is to pick out artists- and then guess at what type of art they do. I whispered to Matt that night- that I thought we should be friends with the waiter, whose name, I found out later, was Roger. I just knew he was an artists- and I guessed he drew. Matt asked- and he said he was a street artists. Which is funny, cause I’ve just recently been looking at so many youtube videos of street artists- and friends have been sending me sites…. This was Rogers favorite dvd. and I thought everyone might like looking at the trailer. Also. Note that he makes a giant whale on the side of the road, in the middle of the day, with cars driving by. It says, “take the bus”. ; ) Sidenote: Whales are finding me everywhere. everyday. Yesterday I looked up, and saw a Sea World Shamu airplane right above my head…. I wonder what this means? Anyway, here’s the video. Enjoy.

the safari pictures are done!!

I was sitting in my office this morning looking at my “Tahiti Green” Painted walls- thinking my life needed some change- and I noticed I only had one photo up of a photography I did about five years- so I started thinking about all of the great places I’ve been- and how no one could tell that from walking around my house…. So…. I finally finished the edits on the safari pictures- along with some other fine art pieces I did last month- and have sent them off to get printed. Thought you might like to see some of the shots. ; )

So I went with my two girlfriends to see Saltimbanco last night… Truly breathtaking! When I was describing it to my friend last night I said it was like visiting a different world for two hours. You loose all sense of reality, and become completely caught up in the light, the music, and the dance. Gorgeous. I encourage all of you to go out there and see it. Love and peace friends.

Renewed.

This week has been absolutely so much fun. The Invisible Children Texas roadie team has come in from San Diego to show the “Black is for Sunday” bracelet film to everybody in Texas for about three months. I have had the best time with them- and am blessed to have them stay at my house (well, parents house- thanks mom and dad!!) It has been especially good timing- since Matt has just left for tour. I would’ve been pretty lonely otherwise. They’ll be in San Antonio about three more days- and then we’re off to the lakehouse for some playtime. Soon after that they’ll be heading to Austin, Houston, and other great Texas cities. It’s been wonderful to see Britta again (red headed fireball of a woman), and get to know Jared (wish he was my little brother) and Amy (so wise, so wonderful). They’ve been so good for my soul- and it’s been so nice to just sit and laugh. The thing I’ve always loved about IC is that we are kind of all a big family. Once you work for them- you instantly feel connected to the others in the organization. We are having lots of fun- so come join us. Tonight we’ll be at UTSA- and Thursday night we’ll be at Eagle’s Nest. Come watch the film and buy some awesome merchandise- and then hang out afterwards. I love making new friends…. And one last, very important thing. We miss you so much Will…. And Allison- I knew you wouldn’t be coming this time around- but I hope you’re having fun in SD and I’ll see you in mid-April. Hugs and mass amounts of love to you two.
